Remember the horrible story of little Rex, the Shiba Inu who was found bound and taped upside down to the side of a refrigerator? You'll be glad to know Rex is getting a much-deserved happy ending/new beginning.
When Boulder police brought Rex to the Humane Society of Boulder Valley he was traumatized and fearful. The shelter staff and trainers immediately began working with him to begin building trust. He was placed with a wonderful foster family who had experience with his breed and who were committed to ensuring his life was now filled with unconditional love and support.
After fostering him for several weeks, the family will adopt him this Saturday! In honor of all the support from the local community and from people across the country, the new guardians want everyone to participate in giving Rex a new name for his new beginning.
Go to the
Humane Society web page to choose your favorite name from the five finalists below which all reflect Rex's Japanese heritage. Suggested minimum donation for voting is $5. Thanks for your help!
The adopting family left this comment after my earlier story about Rex: "Hello all. Thank you all so much for supporting Rex. We are the family adopting him. We are allowing the public to help name our new puppy. He has had a rough start to life and we want to give him a fresh start. So come and vote on your favorite name. Go to the Boulder Humane Society web page to vote!"
